Mayor Ismail Rafeeg is the Mayor of Fuvahmulah City in the 4th term of the Local Council. Ismail Rafeeg was elected to the Mayor's position in the 4th Local Council election held on 10 April 2021.
Mayor Ismail Rafeeg obtained his education from the Th. Atoll Education Center, Majeedhiyya School, and Malaysia. After completing O Level from Majeedhiyya, he obtained a degree in Accounting from the International Islamic University of Malaysia. After his studies, he worked in the resort sector in 1998. Subsequently, in 1999, he joined Dhiraagu as a Pricing and Market Analyst and served in various positions in the company. After working at Dhiraagu for seventeen years, Mayor Ismail Rafeeg left the company in September 2016, working as a Business Development Manager. Additionally, Mayor Ismail Rafeeg introduced iBay in April 2009 to expand online business in the Maldives.
Mayor Ismail Rafeeg is a person who has worked for many years in the Internet and Telecommunication industry and has gained extensive experience in the field. Furthermore, he has completed numerous short-term courses and training in sustainable development, marketing, telecom, and management.
