Biography

Mr. Kennaru Ibrahimdidi is a person who rendered notable services in the brief period of Fuvahmulah's history. He served as the Atoll Chief from September 19, 1973 to February 12, 1975. During this short tenure of 1 year, 4 months, and 27 days, Ibrahimdidi maintained a close relationship with the people and actively worked towards the atoll's development.

One of the most remarkable aspects of Ibrahimdidi's leadership was his hands-on participation in the people's work. By demonstrating his dedication in developmental efforts, he earned immense love and respect from the residents.

During his leadership, significant work was done to improve the atoll's communication system by establishing a radio telephone service. As part of this effort, a tall coconut tree was cut and placed within the atoll office walls to mount the antenna.

After taking charge as the Atoll Chief, Ibrahimdidi's first priority was to relocate the health center from a small room in the Funa'du area to a room in the atoll office, making it more accessible to the public. This change brought the service from one end of the island to its center. The health center services continued in this atoll office room until the new medical center building was completed.

During his tenure as Atoll Chief, Ibrahimdidi traveled to Male twice. His first trip was on January 10, 1974, and he returned and resumed office on March 3, 1974. His second trip was on September 10, 1974, which also marked the end of his Atoll Chief tenure.
