Maryam Diyaana is the president of the Women's Development Committee elected in Fuvahmulah in 2021. Diyaana was elected in the 4th round of the Local Council Elections, contesting from the Fuvahmulah Central South constituency.

Diyaana has continuously served the Women's Development Committee in Male for 20 years since 1997. During these 20 years, she has also served as the committee's Secretary at various times.
