Maryam Zahina Ahmed is a member of the Committee for the Development of Women, representing the North-East constituency of Fuvahmulah in the 4th term of the Local Council Elections. Zahina was elected to this committee during the Local Council Elections held on April 10, 2021.

After completing her higher secondary education from the Gnaviyani Atoll Educational Center, Zahina has worked for 6 years in various government institutions, including the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
