Main Responsibilities and Duties of the Position: | Accountability to the Council and the Secretary General in all matters related to the Council administration Full support in implementing decisions made by the Council, and guidance from the Secretary General or Supervisor in performing administrative tasks related to implementation of such decisions Providing library services according to established library opening procedures Issuing books from the library Processing of discarded items and writing off. And maintaining checked cards Assigning accession numbers to books Organizing and maintaining books available in the library Processing and maintaining books, newspapers, magazines and other materials received or obtained by the library under an organized system Providing easy access to library resources to all users who need library resources under established principles, which includes book borrowing, reserving, issuing and receiving items, and interlibrary loans At the end of each week, taking action against those who have taken books that are overdue according to the rules established for action at the end of that week Working together with all staff in developing and promoting the library. In this way, arranging displays, marking certain occasions, and performing other tasks to be done in the library Organizing and maintaining shelves according to established principles Working according to established principles in processing books and performing maintenance work on damaged items with the assistance of other staff members Submitting written requests to relevant parties for obtaining all necessary items for the library, and maintaining records of correspondence Assisting in obtaining books and furniture needed for the library Providing assistance and support needed for the work carried out by the section Establishing a procedure according to a principle that exists when the library is quiet at all times |
Qualifications of the position: | Having obtained Level 7 or 8 qualification from the National Qualifications Framework of Maldives in the field related to the position's duties. |
