Main Responsibilities and Duties of the Position:

Responsible to the Council and Secretary General in all matters relating to the administration of the Council.

Full support in implementing decisions approved by the Council, and providing guidance from the Secretary General or Supervisor in carrying out administrative tasks related to the implementation of such decisions.

Setup and maintain LAN/WAN, VPN, wireless networks and firewalls.

Configure IP addressing, DNS, DHCP and VLANs optimally.

Monitor network traffic and implement security protocols.

Implement Quality of Service and Bandwidth Management policies.

Install, update and maintain Windows/Linux servers and virtual environments.

Maintain Active Directory, user authentication and access control systems.

Create task automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash or Python.

Perform backup, recovery testing and system health monitoring.

Establish endpoint protection, intrusion detection/prevention systems.

Conducting Vulnerability Assessment and Patch Management

Implementing Data Classification, Encryption and Secure Access Policies

Maintaining ASIEM Tools and Incident Response Procedures

Conducting Cyber Security Training Sessions for Employees

Providing IT Support and Resolving Escalated Technical Issues

Working with Developers and Governance Teams for Secure System Integration

Documenting System Architecture, Configurations and IT Procedures

Position Requirements:

Having at least 8 years of experience in the field of System/Network Administration and Cyber Security

Technical Skills Required for the Position:

Virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, scripting, CCNA Certified

(This letter should state whether the position held is a paid position or not, or alternatively an official letter from that organization stating so should be submitted.)

(e) If worked in a closed institution, or in a closed private company or private institution, or in a closed national or international organization or society, a letter from the employing office stating the position held and duration of employment (in years, months and days), and responsibilities (even if employed in different positions in one institution) separately. If such a letter cannot be obtained from the office, the "Reference Check Form for Closed Institution Experience" in Schedule 8 of the Recruitment Rules.

The considerations for determining the most qualified person for this position are stipulated in item 12 of the Civil Service Employment Rules and Principles 2021 (Third Amendment).

The interview and examination for appointment to this position will be held at Fuvahmulah City Council between 06 September 2026 and 06 October 2026.
