In connection with the water crisis faced by Fuvahmulah, the Fuvahmulah City Council has decided to test the supply water once every month. Accordingly, the council has collected water samples from each neighborhood and sent them to MWSC (Male' Water and Sewerage Company Private Limited) for testing. While comparing the test results with URA's (Utilities Regulatory Authority) water supply standards, some aspects did not meet the ideal standards, however, they are not at a dangerous level. URA's water supply standards are in line with WHO's supply water standards. Therefore, we state that Fuvahmulah's supply water is of a quality that meets WHO's water supply standards.

The council is discussing and arranging the necessary steps with URA to continue water testing every month. We also state that the council will closely monitor the changes in water quality by testing the supply water monthly.
