Fuvahmulak City Council has established the portal 'Afun Ado' with the purpose of obtaining citizens' participation, opinions, and consultations on various matters related to the city, and increasing public involvement in council decisions and activities. In this regard, the portal was officially inaugurated by the Minister of Cities and Administrative Regions, and Public Works, Adam Shareef Umar.
Through this portal, citizens will have an easy opportunity to discuss and exchange views about matters related to Fuvahmulak. Additionally, the portal will facilitate holding polls on various topics to gather public opinions, and make it easier for the council to seek citizen participation in creating regulations and rules. Furthermore, it will provide opportunities to submit proposals related to different sectors, seek feedback, discuss, and even prepare budgets with public participation.
This portal, which can be registered by every Maldivian citizen through ePass, allows for discussing topics, designing and submitting proposals, conducting polls to assess public satisfaction with council decisions and policies, determining policies with public input, and providing opportunities for citizens to give their opinions on budget allocation.
