Registering a child's birth and obtaining an official birth certificate. This service is very important for obtaining various government services and documents for Maldivian citizens.

Register birth and obtain birth certificate

  • For people over 18 years old, apply through the link available on One.gov after logging in to E-Faas.
  • To obtain a birth certificate, the child's father and if there is no father, the child's mother, and if there is no mother, the child's guardian must be appointed.
  • If the birth is registered in the Islamic Ministry's name book, it should be there. If it's not in the Islamic Ministry's name book, a notary public must be appointed to notarize.
  • The fee for registering parties is 25 Rufiyaa

To obtain a copy or duplicate birth certificate

  • For people over 18 years old, apply through the link available on One.gov after logging in to E-Faas.
  • If the child is under 18 years old, the parent or legal guardian must apply.
  • The original birth certificate is required for this service.

Change information

  • After logging in to DNR portal, apply for ID card to change information
  • For children under 18 years old, the parent or guardian must apply on behalf of the child as a dependent.
  • Contact a collection center in your area to get the form and ID card
  • After verification on DNR, if the information is correct, a fee link will be sent.
  • After paying the fee, the card will be sent to the designated collection center

Obtain birth certificate after changing information

  • For people over 18 years old, apply through the link available on One.gov after logging in to E-Faas.
  • If the child is under 18 years old, the parent or legal guardian must apply.
  • A notarized consent form is required for children over 10 years old.
  • The original birth certificate is required.
